John Smedley to deliver SOE Fan Faire 2008 keynote; event details revealed

It’s that time of the year again, and SOE is kicking off their 2008 Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire. This year’s event will have SOE president John Smedley delivering the keynote address, as well as loads of fun gaming-related activities for the attendees. Event details can be found after the jump.

The 2008 Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire is about to kick off this weekend, and to officially open the festivities, SOE President John Smedley will be delivering the second annual “community address” at the Hilton Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

A live presentation will be combined with a streaming video broadcast online, and for the first time ever, Station Voice, powered by Vivox (a service that allows players to talk to each other in online games), will be providing a live audio broadcast in EverQuest, EverQuest II, and Star Wars Galaxies. Meanwhile, Smedley will allow attendees and the millions of gamers worldwide an insider’s look at the industry events.

Apart from the community address, guests will also be able to try out demos of new titles throughout the Fan Faire weekend, including the much-anticipated Free Realms. They’ll also get the chance to finally meet their online, game-playing buddies, as well as get to join game-themed live events like tournaments, contests, live quests, panel discussions and many more gaming-related contests.
