Monster Hunter hits shelves and disappears

Yep, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd finally hit the shelves in Japan and… promptly disappeared. Not much of a surprise – it’s Capcom‘s sequel to the popular series, after all.

In an earlier article, we reported on the event that was the Monster Hunter release – not as big as The Burning Crusade but heck, this is Japan we’re talking about. The PSP fanboy site reports that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd has sold 500,000 units on the first day. This would probably be enough of a hint for Capcom – though not enough of an assurance that it’d be headed Stateside.

We’ll be on the look out for more info regarding this, whether Capcom will take 500,000 as a number to signal a North American release. Stay tuned.
