No Microphone for Wiimote
According to a recent interview in EGM with Iwata and Miyamoto from Nintendo, they announced that the Wiimote will not feature a microphone. Their reasoning behind this was that the inclusion of a microphone would increase the price of the console too much, but instead they hope that a wireless headset option will be made available. Iwata also went on to mention that WiiConnect24 will work like a mobile phone; even when your Wii is off it will still be able to receive files. While it surely would’ve been nice to have a microphone already included with the purchase of a Wii, there’s a good chance that we’ll be seeing a plethora of third party headsets released instead.
