nVidia acquires Ageia to produce GeForce-accelerated PhysX

We just got wind of the latest agreement that nVidia has just signed. The visual computing technologies company, popular for their video cards, has just released information that they have signed a definite agreement to acquire Ageia Technologies, Inc.
With this news, nVidia is definitely making is gearing up for something big, maybe the fact that the company has made plans of making an FPS game.
It seems that this move is considered a good step by both companies. Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO of nVidia said that Ageia team “is world class, and is passionate about the same thing we are—creating the most amazing and captivating game experiences.”
Manju Hegde, co-founder and CEO of Ageia, also shared his thoughts regarding this newly found relationship. He commented:
nVidia is the perfect fit for us. They have the world’s best parallel computing technology and are the thought leaders in GPUs and gaming. We are united by a common culture based on a passion for innovating and driving the consumer experience.
Huang added that by combining both teams, they’ll be able to bring the Ge-Force-accelerated PhsyX to gamers around the world. Now, this is definitely something to look forward to in the coming months.
