Happy desolation. That’s the oxymoron we cooked up as we pored over evidence of how things fared for the Wii. The guys at GoNintendo have gone on a shopping exodus, in hopes of buying a Wii console. One Walmart and one GameStop retailer later, they found themselves at Target, the last stop of the day. And the results of the long trek?

The Wii console shelf is on the left, with the PS3 on the right. It seems that the Wii faces the same problem wherever they went. Both Walmart and Gamestop reported “0” for the Wii, adding that they sold out within 30 minutes of making it to the storage rooms.

As an added plus, if you look carefully *brings out magnifying glass*, there’s quite an abundance of titles up for grabs. Given the kind of news we’ve been hearing for the unit, consider this as a first-hand glimpse of the sales reports. On a last note – there are reports that a Target Wii shipment is due this 21st.
