Warner to announce fresh takeover, SCi biggest candidate

Following the news about SCi Entertainment being open for a takeover bid so far? Well, it seems that someone has finally been able to snap up the firm that brought us the famous Lara Croft, as media giant  Warner Bros. is reportedly gearing up to make an announcement about a recent acquisition they’ll be making in Europe. All the details after the jump.

It’s been a while since we last heard about SCi Entertainment being buttered up for a takeover bid by quite a lot of other companies.The most prominent ones were Time Warner, Ubisoft, and Infogrames.

Now, it seems that a winner has already been chosen among the suitors, and it’s none other than Warner Bros. Fancy that.

This comes directly from rumors saying that the media giant is due to make an announcement on an impending acquisition in Europe. As it is, all signs point to SCi Entertainment.

Examples of these are Warner Bros. hiring a number of staff in the UK and Europe over the past few months, as well as SCi’s share price jumping up by around 40 percent in in the past week.

Looking at SCi, this should definitely be a good thing for the company who gave us Lara Croft. After all , the takeover bid had been dragging on for quite too long, and certain events such as the shareholder revolt and departure of the management team isn’t doing it any favors.
