Will Wright intrigued by LittleBigPlanet, will now probably buy PS3

how can we not? - Image 1The Sackboys seem to have played the role of “voice of reason” for Spore creator Will Wright. Would you believe he has been snubbing Sony‘s PlayStation3 all this time because no title has piqued his interest enough for him to purchase one? That’s all about to change now, though, thanks to LittleBigPlanet.

Spore creator Will Wright doesn’t own a PS3. Yes, it’s true. He missed out on MGS4, my personal favorite Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Resistance, and he doesn’t seem in the least bit bothered about it.

In fact, it would be probably safe to say he’s snubbed the PS3 all this time having said that “I own pretty much every other system. There’s just been no titles for [the PS3] I’ve really wanted to see.”

But all that’s probably about to change now, thanks to Media Molecule‘s LittleBigPlanet. The game designer finally showed interest in the next-gen console (after obviously ignoring it for the past two years) when asked what he thought about LBP. This is what he had to say about it:

I haven’t seen as much of [LittleBigPlanet] as I’d like to. What I’ve seen of it looks intriguing and very cool. I’ve seen a couple of videos of it, though. Is it out now? I don’t have a PS3… [LBP] will probably tip the scales for me to buy one.

And about time, too. In case you’re still living under a rock and also doesn’t know when LBP is coming out, it’s next week, October 21st. And yes, you’ll need a PS3 for it.
