Epic Games brings Gears of War music to masses
Good games succeed in creating a world so brilliant, it takes over the senses. Epic Games‘ Gears of War is one such game. Eye-popping graphics, intense gameplay, a commanding game world, all tied together by a dynamic musical score – one that will finally see commercial release on the 31st of July.
Calling on the talents of Kevin Riepl, the music score of Gears of War achieved its goal of building the game’s world and then some. Performing the score was the Northwest Symphonia; its full orchestra score added a whole new dimension of depth to the game that it won the 2006 Interactive Achievement Award for Original Music Composition.
Offering 28 tracks of everything from pulse-raising action scores, ambient pieces, and introspective themes, this soundtrack is anticipated to be just as great an experience away from the console as it is when playing the game.
Fans of the game and Riepl alike will want to lay their hands on copies of this soundtrack. Better keep the 31st in mind when planning out finances.
