By now you’ve probably heard about Gratuitous Space Battles dev Cliff Harris calling Epic’s Mark Rein a “triple-A jerk” after the latter interrupted a panel involving Harris at the Develop Conference last week. Epic compatriots Tim Sweeney and Cliff Bleszinski have already had their say regarding Rein’s outburst, and now the man himself has offered his own apology to Harris.

“I want to apologise,” said Rein in an email to Harris. “It was completely rude of me to interrupt your panel with my opinion no matter how well intentioned. I’m supremely passionate about the plight of indie developers, and game developers in general, and I heard something I thought was incorrect advice and I just couldn’t keep my big mouth shut.”

The email goes on to explain what exactly set off Rein’s interruption, which according to him centers around the issue of releasing important news items about games through 1-on-1 emails and in forums as compared to press releases and interviews aimed at bigger gaming news sites, magazines and blogs. You can read the full email at the source link below.
