EQ II’s Lesser Fay remains dark and mystical

FaydarkAround five hundred years ago, Faydark was a coniferous forest teeming with high, thick trees. Over the course of time, one thing led to another and today, the forest is already devoid of trees. But to say that the place is less magical is highly inaccurate. Instead of plants, the grounds of Faydark are now covered with huge towering mushrooms, twisted overgrowing vines and gigantic flowers.

Such is the state players would see Faydark and its extension Lesser Fay once they travel around EverQuest II‘s continent of Faydwer. Morticus also said that Tunare’s presence will be felt in great concentration around the area. “Tunare hasn’t forgotten her followers that reside within the Lesser Fay either, which is evident by the Great Tree that grows within her grove in the Northern part of the zone,” wrote Morticus in the official site of the game.

He added as well that the new life forms that surround Lesser Fay is due to the Loa’Sur river that flows from the Emerald Halls. Accordingly, dragon Wuoshi and the Bloom of Growth’s hiding place was cracked open during the period of Rending. Light then shineth on the bloom and the water flowed until it reached LFay.

unicornWith a history as rich as these, it shouldn’t be surprise then that LFay will become an important place in EverQuest II. Creatures that are hundreds of years old such as Brownies, Unicorns, Fae Drakes, Fairies and Wisps can be found in the area. Also, several taverns are claiming that even Equestrielle the Corrupted can be seen passing through from time to time.

Lastly, Morticus enumerated the different factions in the region that travellers and wanderers should know about:

  • The followers of Wu that exist in the Northwestern portion of the Lesser Faydark are those loyal to Wu the Enlightened and continue to meditate on his teachings and those of Zan Fi from ages past.
  • The Satyr of the Fugutr Tribe are devout followers of Tunare and exist to help protect the Emerald Halls from those wishing to cause harm to the Bloom of Growth or obtain it for their own use.
  • The Thexians that exist within the region have returned after many years of absence and have been ramping up their efforts in the region
