Erik Estavillo subpoenas Bill Gates into his RROD lawsuit

RROD - Image 1If you thought we’ve heard the last of Erik Estavillo a.k.a. the banned Resistance player and lawsuit spammer, then you thought wrong my friends. The latest development in his string of legal proceedings brings another big name into the mix. To further his case against Microsoft and the RROD, not just anyone would do – not Major Nelson, not Don Mattrick, not Steve Ballmer – he goes straight up to the big cheese himself: Bill Gates.

The latest development in his string of legal proceedings brings another big name into the mix. To further his case against Microsoft and the RROD, not just anyone would do – not Major Nelson, not Don Mattrick, not Steve Ballmer – he goes straight up to the big cheese himself: Bill Gates.

Estavillo subpoenas Gates, instructing the Microsoft chief to provide “documents pertaining to the true and relative number of actual Xbox 360 units that have been fixed by Microsoft over the past 3 years.” In addition, Estavillo also wants statistical data and documents on all reported cases of hardware failure (including RROD) and bannings due to piracy that have occurred from November 28th, 2008 to November 29th, 2009.

Gamepolitics had to ask, and you all might be curious too, as to the basis of his next lawsuit. Estavillo replies that he no longer has any plans of suing another company and they can “quote him on that.”
