Europe takes part in LOTRO Beta and Stress Test
What’s so special about this weekend for LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar? Nothing much, except that its European Beta programme is bound to go officially live.
Starting the programme on January 13, the first LOTRO Stress Test will officially open the Beta to a wider gaming audience. You wanna find out and put to test the endurance and limits of the service? Then join in, along with the thousand others expected to give it a try.
Says Jim Brown, Codemasters Online Gaming producer,
This weekend’s Stress test is a major milestone for LOTRO; for the first time we will be allowing tens of thousands of people to join the game and test every aspect to the absolute limit. By introducing a great number of new players to the Beta, we will be able to gather valuable information on our performance of our hardware.
Meanwhile, David Solari, VP and General Manager of Codemasters, is also hoping to have over 200,000 people testing the game before its official launch come spring. If ever, this will be one of the largest European Betas ever. “The commitment and passion of the community involved is huge and it’s great to give many of these loyal fans a taste of the action before we launch.”
