Evading the killjoys of Need for Speed Carbon: the cops
A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM QJ: you can never pwn real-life cops. Ever. Not even if you were driving an Aston Martin Vanquish, a Lamborghini Gallardo, or the latest Mitsubishi Lan-Evo. So don ‘t try these at home.
Okay, now that’s cleared up… Today we have the latest gameplay vid for EA’s Need for Speed: Carbon, featuring the series’ favorite killjoys: the patrol cops. The car chases got kicked up a notch with Most Wanted, where evading – and disabling – the police became critical to advancing in the game.
And the same engine returns in Carbon, as we can see in all its fender-bending glory. Yes, the destructible parts of the environment are your friend: hit these Crashbreakers and send the cops home packing insurance-deductibles. The Crashbreakers themselves have been scaled up – now you can send entire condemned buildings into the cops’ path! Yes, the heavy Rhino SUVs come back to show you the meaning of 60-to-zero in one second or less. Don’t forget the spike strips!
Just remember you can never pwn real-world cops. Busted!
