Rockstar Games has been singing praises for NaturalMotion‘s euphoria engine, and well, it looks like another developer will be picking up a NaturalMotion middleware product called morpheme. Rejoice MMORPG fans, it’s CCP, makers of EVE Online.
For those unfamiliar with NaturalMotion’s technologies, its euphoria and endorphin 3D synthesis technologies were used in video games like Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS2, DS), among others. As you can probably tell, the team up of CCP and NaturalMotion in future projects and EVE Online looks really promising.
Here’s what CCP’s Thor Gunnarsson, Vice President of Business Development, had to say about the partnership:
Deeply immersive visual experiences facilitated by high-fidelity motion graphics are the hallmark of our virtual worlds. As a valuable addition to our technology arsenal, morpheme will support CCP’s drive to deliver vivid expressiveness to the avatars populating EVE and beyond.
There you have it folks. It looks like we’ll have more to look forward to in EVE Online. We’ll keep you posted.
