EVE Online Launches in China
CCP Games has announced today that they have finalized the licensing agreement with Optic Communications to launch EVE online, the highly successful MMOG game in China by Q3 this year. The USA and Europe have gone online within the last 6 months and China will only help expand the games grasp on the market, all clustered by CCP. The public open beta will be launched in China by Q2 of 2006.
The partnership between CCP Games and Optic Communications will open the industry’s largest virtual universe to the world’s most dynamic online games market. EVE Online recently set the PCU (Peak Concurrent User) world record at 25,665 users, which is greater than the total capacity offered by any other MMOG in a single persistent universe.
“The completion of this license agreement with Optic Communications marks the establishment of CCP as a world wide leader in innovative online games and recognizes the enormous potential for EVE Online in Asia,” said Hilmar Veigar Petursson, CEO of CCP Games. “Their local expertise and full backing of CITIC Pacific makes Optic Communications the ideal strategic partner to enter the China market with and further accelerate the growth of our subscriber base.”
EVE offers a extreme variety of professions to choose ranging from; commodities trader to mercenary; industrial entrepreneur to pirate; mining engineer to battle fleet commander; or any combination of these and much more. Your greatest asset is the starship, designed to accommodate your specific needs, skills, and ambitions. Complementing its lethal arsenal are thousands of modules and components, allowing for countless customizations.
