EverQuest II Dev Chest Forum Updates

VenekorThere’s no doubt that the best updates always come straight from the horse’s mouth. This time around, the game designers themselves – namely Tony “Sir Lucan” Garcia, Steve Danuser a.k.a. Moorgard, and Owlchick – have given us the skinny on a lot of EverQuest II‘ s hot forum topics. Here are just some of them:

Venekor‘s nasty behavior. The dragon Venekor is a bit anti-social, stealing things atypical of dragon manners. According to Moorgard, Venekor’s bad behavior is due to his unfortunate upbringing. He had been abandoned by his mother at the Temple of Cazic-Thule. His powerful father wasn’t kind to him either.

Norrath’s secrets. Sir Lucan gives us answers to the mysteries of Norrath, but you have to figure out what the questions are first. Confused? Check them out here:

  1. The past has returned to rule such places.
  2. Within a stolen realm, the answer rests.
  3. A bloody history cannot be repeated.
  4. A conflict in war prevents annihilation.
  5. The knowledge will release and revive.
  6. Hunters of the anomalous integrated by mystery.
  7. It is but a part of a whole.
  8. Therein rests the secrets of the ancients and the harbor of the lost.
  9. An enthralling device.
  10. A network of shadows is gracious to secrets.
  11. Defiant as ever.
  12. A word of pure power is one of many.
  13. The ages mean nothing within certain time.
  14. An entity that feeds what imprisons it.
  15. A promise from dawn keeps the secret.
  16. Named after first light and led by deception.
  17. A foe reborn.
  18. It is a place ravaged by destiny rather than cataclysms.

New city amenities. Owlchick is another EQ II game designer who gave us answers concerning the zones, ground level docks, Racial villages, and questlines questions. According to her, there is likely one Zone in the treetop city. The docks are slightly above water-level.  The city is not in the water, though. The city may either have a tradeskill society and instances or not. Concerning racial villages, the Kelethin remains a Fae village.  There is a Fae racial quest line similar to what’s in Qeynos’ villages. For example, if you’re a wood elf, you may head to Willowood to do the Feir’Dal quest line.
