Excellent week for Monster Hunter Portable 2nd and PSP

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd - Image 1Sales for hit title Monster Hunter Portable 2nd continues to go up and there are no signs of slowing down yet. A couple of days ago, we reported that Capcom finally released it in Japan. At the launch, half a million people went home happy with their new game. Anyway, Japanese online newspaper Mainichi Interactive is now saying that total sales for Portable 2nd went as high as 700,000 on the first week alone.

Mainichi added that hardware sales for PSP was excellent as well, following the release of the gold colored handheld. Most popular colors, however, were still the blue and silver systems.

Going back to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, it is without a doubt that the game could be the best-selling PSP title to date in the Land of the Rising Sun. We ran a report back in January that it is actually the most successful title prior to release in terms of pre-orders.

We really can’t add anything now except Capcom should bring this title to the U.S. *Sigh*
