Eyeshield 21: video of the game system in action
It seems our expectations for the Eyeshield 21 game were somewhat premature, as Siliconera’s brought new information to light regarding how people are supposed to play the video game. Apparently, it’s less of a football game than it is a sort of adventure game with football elements.
In Eyeshield 21, you’re actually going through important games in the game season of the Devil Bats, with the locker room acting as your quest hub in scenario mode. Even more important to note is that you’re following some of the actual happenings within the manga and anime series, so instead of actually playing a full game, you’re actually playing important portions of each game with the intent of continuing the story for that match.
Siliconera also notes that there are different systems for passing and running with the ball. Instead of actual running, the computer does it for you with a simulated run meter. It’s your job to keep the meter running, pardon the pun, by getting the player to dodge the opposing team. If you get blocked, you lose time, and when you’re out of time, that’s when the run ends.
In any case, there’s nothing better than an instructional video to get the point across. Watch this insightful new vid to show you how to best get the ball across the field goal line. Enjoy!
