Eyeshield 21’s Wii controls explained
It’s rare that you hear about a series like “Eyeshield 21,” especially since the chances of it hitting other countries is slim. Regardless, Siliconera was able to find the information on the Eyeshield 21 football game, and translated most of it, explaining how controls would work and how to get your character to do things like pass the ball.
According to Siliconera, most of the controls for this game revolve around the use of the Wiimote. For example, passing requires you to point to a specific character you want to throw to, then time a downward movement of the Wiimote to estimate the power you’ll use to throw the ball at him. Even the simple act of running uses the Wiimote, as shaking the Wiimote at proper moments allows you to dodge oncoming linemen.
For those who haven’t heard of the series, by the way, it tells the story of a rather unassuming young man who gets drafted into the American Football club in his school because of his amazing running and dodging abilities. The catch? He has to wear an eyeshield so that no other clubs and schools can try and recruit him, making him even more legendary by the very virtue of his eyeshield. In any case, this is also the first American football game in Japan for the Wii, so expect it to make waves over there (and hopefully here, as well).
