Fable 2 nowhere near finished, planned to be the greatest game ever

Fable 2 concept art - Image 1One of the most promising video games Xbox 360 owners are waiting for is Fable 2, the sequel to a grand RPG that easily topped sales charts. The good news is, Lionhead Studios‘ still set on making it “the greatest game of all time.” The bad news? It’s nowhere near finished.

Well, the game being in the middle of development isn’t something to frown about. So far, we’ve seen from previous videos and concept art that Fable 2 looks breathtaking; a blog post on Lionhead’s community site says that “the game will look at least a gazillion times better than anything youÂ’ve seen.”

We’re talking “uber-detailed” textures here, and up to 50 character models on screen with dynamic shadows. Following the first installment, day and night cycles will be implemented and manifested through realistic lighting on expansive outdoor locations.

Another promise coming from the devs is that “Fable 2 is graphically going to be a masterpiece.” One Italian dev from their team even went as far as saying the game will kick BioShock‘s water effects.

On the positive side of things, development is already on “fleshing out the final bits.” This is expected to take a while, but it’s hard to complain if the final product will be chiseled to perfection. Expect Fable 2 on shelves sometime next year.
