Fallout 3: 200 different endings, 20 hours of gameplay, more
You remember how Bethesda said that Fallout 3 will have 12 different endings? Massive eh? Yeah, well, that’s not gonna happen. Instead, it’s going to have 200 different endings! Whoa. Anyway, that and more details on Fallout 3 from a recent podcast with Bethesda’s Todd Howard after the “read more” link below.
New details have arrived for Fallout 3 straight from Bethesda Game Studio’s executive producer, Todd Howard, who was recently interviewed in an OXM Podcast. Howard gives us some more reasons to look forward to the game. Over 200 reasons in fact.
You guys remember how they said Fallout 3 will have 12 endings? Well, now the figure is closer to 200. Whoa. However, last time they said that variations to the ending are small, so it may still hold. Then again, 200 is still a huge number, even with variations in mind.
Anyway, let’s move on. Here are several new details on Fallout 3 as discussed by Howard during the podcast:
- The game is twice as big than when they first started.
- Your character will have a party with a maximum of three, consisting of himself, a humanoid-type companion, and an NPC like Dogmeat.
- Dogmeat can die, but developers are still working on Dogmeat’s health system.
- The game is already finished and is now being tested.
- Main quest takes about 20 hours; a playthrough can take as much as 100 hours.
- You can interact a lot with the Brotherhood of Steel after a certain point in the game.
- Release (still) pegged for Fall 2008.
- Bethesda will be staying true to the visual aesthetics of the game.
