See, the perfect 40 was given for the Xbox 360 version, which, as we’ve been frequently hearing as of late, is absolutely flawless. Meanwhile, the 38/40 score was given to the PS3 version. Now, now. 38 is still a damn good score, so that’s definitely no reason for shame. Still, it does speak a lot of the difference in the way each versions were handled.

Bayonetta makes it the first multi-platform game to be given the perfect score by Famitsu, as well as setting a record number of perfect 40 scores awarded in one year. It’s exciting to see how Final Fantasy XIII will fare in the records game once it gets released.
