Famitsu: November’s top hardware/software sales

Japan‘s weekly Famitsu magazine has reported on the figures for the region’s game and consoles sales for last month. Topping the list is Square Enix‘s Dragon Quest IV RPG for the DS, at 601,737 sales. Quite an impressive feat, given that it launched near the end of November. As for the rest of the leading titles:

• Dragon Quest IV (DS): 601,737
• Mario Party DS (DS): 453,361
• Super Mario Galaxy (Wii): 415,491
• Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2): 305,234
• Dynasty Warriors 6 (PS3): 280,559
• Winning Eleven 2008 (PS3): 144,839
• Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (Wii): 133,833
• Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS): 100,956 (cumulative 259,364)
• Mega Man Star Force 2 (DS): 83,744
• Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess(MMORPG): 82,597

Famitsu further published their tallies for last month’s console sales, with handhelds noticeably reigning. Handhelds reigned supreme for last month, with the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP taking first and second place respectively.

Famitsu’s survey quizzed retailers regarding the reported sales. Sixty percent of the responses stated that the average sales for this period were lower than last year’s during the PS3 and Wii’s launch. Famitsu also published the answers they received for the survey quesion: What game related product will sell this holiday season? Below are the top ten products:
