Famitsu reveals MGS4 bosses:”Beauty and the Beast”
For those who’ve seen Konami‘s Games Convention 2007 offering for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Famitsu shed light on some of the newcomers like that mystery tentacle dude and the airborne bomber. Calm down, take a deep breath… meet “Beauty and the Beast,” an all-female special force unit.
That’s right. Those bad-ass folks wreaking havoc were all ladies in specialized suits. The one who stopped a tank with brute force was Crying Wolf, a fast and powerful killing machine on all fours. Raging Raven’s got wings to fly around and destructive missiles to decimate anyone on the ground. We see her doing her thing in the trailer.
Got the drift yet? Fans of the original MGS would recognize these names, especially the animal choices. If you figured Decoy Octopus also deserves a counterpart, then you’re right. Laughing Octopus is the one responsible for squeezing the life out of a soldier with one of her four tentacles.
Since the gang is all here, we can’t miss the most memorable among the bunch. Like that psycho who can read your button presses and memory card, Screaming Mantis still has psychic abilities and extra arms to boot. In the GC ’07 trailer, he turned a soldier against his comrades before letting the poor guy meet his maker.
These absolutely deadly chicks weren’t brought up to kill. They’re actually victims of war, each with their own painful stories like previous bosses in the series. Due to some health and mental issues, they ultimately became slaves to technology that turned them into how we see them now.
