Famitsu scans and PSM details for Devil May Cry 4

Are you still boycotting Devil May Cry 4 because Capcom let go of its previous PlayStation 3 (PS3) exclusivity and decided to release the video game both on the Xbox 360 and PC? Well, we found new information about Nero and the video game in general. After reading this, we believe that you’ll ultimately embrace the game once more.

Take note that information here was gathered from the article published by the PlayStation Magazine (PSM) in its latest issue (which have also been posted on several gaming sites). Some of you may know some of these already but most will come in as a surprise. Before we talk about Devil May Cry 4 in general, let’s discuss Nero’s listed moves first. They are as follow:

  • Charge Shot – Hold square to charge, then release to fire (As well as shooting bullets in rapid succession, you can charge up your gun for a slower, but more powerful shot.)
  • Exceed – Pull L2 to charge the EX-gauge (Reving your EX-gauge like a motorcycle handle, you can build up to three levels of extra power for your moves.)
  • Streak – While holding R1, press the left stick towards the enemy + triangle (Streak is a powerful forward strike.)
  • High Roller – While holding R1, press the left stick away from the enemy + triangle (Air juggle)
  • Hell Bound – Face the Grim Grip and press R1+Circle (Think of this as a a grappling hook-like move that you can use to reach far away platforms – but only if there is a globe to catch.)
  • Buster – Press circle near an enemy (This attack can be performed after you catch an enemy. Best used at the end of a combo, since it doesn’t work well with juggling.)
  • Snatch – While facing an enemy, press R1+circle (Used to grab enemies in the air or on the ground)

Aside from these, PSM also mentioned that a lot of graphics upgrade were done to DMC4. Everything is running at constant 60fps, characters are a lot more expressive, 16×9 aspect ratio, same graphics engine as Dead Rising, attention paid to every detail in the game that is staggering.

It was also said that Vergil was still not confirmed to be in the game but quite curiously, Capcom didn’t also say anything about removing him. You should also beware of Variel and the Frosts. Variel will use well the destructible environment to hurt your character while Frosts can appear and re-appear, not to mention their ability to attack in group.
