Far Cry Vengeance Interview and New Screens
IGN has posted a new interview with game designer Fabrice Curry about the upcoming Wii version of Far Cry and while it reiterates some points covered in an older preview, there’s also some new stuff you can look forward to as well as four new screenshots. Key points of the interview include:
- Vengeance builds on Far Cry Instincts Evolution while adding Wii-specific content and gameplay mechanics
- At least three new maps: Tourist Resort, an abandoned World War II base and a petrol refinery, each environment with its own identity
- New characters and weapons
- Work on Far Cry Vengeance started at the same time as Far Cry Instincts Predator; more than 60 people on the dev team
- Xbox version will still retain the visual edge with some details, even while the Wii is more powerful overall – still, we can “expect a game as beautiful as what we used to see on Xbox.”
- No map editor as in the previous games
- Splitscreen multiplayer mode, possibly online features as well
