FEAR Creeps to Xbox 360 in October
What is FEAR? Yoda said it leads to anger, but we say “FEAR leads to a lot of happy Xbox 360 owners”.
Yes, FEAR will fill people with pee-in-your-pants nervousness and edge-of-your-seat tension. But it will also make them happy. Very happy.
What exactly is FEAR? FEAR was a critically acclaimed PC game, but the Xbox 360 version has some big improvements:
1. A bonus level integrated into the storyline.
2. A brand new weapon (although it’s still a secret what it’s going to be).
3. It looks better. The graphics are smoother and seem to go faster on the Xbox 360 than on the PC. Why? It seems that the game developers realized that they could squeeze in more performance. So they put in better graphics.
4. The 360 control makes sense in an action-packed first-person game.
So what is FEAR? FEAR is where you are part of the “First Encounter Assault Recon Team” (Such. A. Cool. Name.). And it’s a supernatural somewhat freaky thriller of a game (you gotta love the mind-controlled armored zombie-ific clone warriors). What’s more, your character moves like a star in an action movie thanks to dramatic slow-motion effects and kick-ass action moves (melee attacks, pounding enemy faces with the butt of your gun, flying kicks and scissors kicks, and lots of running, dodging, and being cool).
FEAR is developed by Monolith and by Vivendi Games and should be out by October. Keep watching this space for screenshots and more.
