FFXIII details unravel – with stunning images to boot
Now they’re talking! Square Enix, that is. After allowing their gameplay info dissemination on Final Fantasy XIII to pass through a really anorexic bottleneck, the dam is about ready to burst, and with great pics at that!
The scans you will find here are actually from three different magazines, containing some interesting fleshed out details for FFXIII. One of the more interesting bits is that Square Enix has confirmed that they have taken out entirely those random battles, and will instead provide for a more pronounced action element.
Basically, what’s going to happen here at FFXIII is that it will be building on the FFXI/FFXII style. You do remember that natural flow of combat upon crossing paths with foes, right? That’s what they’re aiming for here. To quote from EGM, one of the source scans: “Battle Director Toshiro Tsuchida hopes to push it to a new level, where enemies exist in ‘ecosystems’ and act independently of the player according to the monsters’ feelings, surroundings, and interactions with other critters.”
