Fils-Aime: Sony and Microsoft “erred” in making expensive consoles

After proclaiming in a previous speech that “everyone’s a gamer“, Nintendo of America‘s president, Reggie Fils-Aime, gave their inventors more reasons why they should stay with Nintendo.

Fils-Aime said that Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo’s rivals in the console race, made a grave mistake in developing expensive and hard-to-develop-for systems that only cater to the core gamer set. “They’ve put themselves in a box. I don’t know how they’re going to get out of it,” he said in a presentation to Nintendo’s investors.

A strategic conundrum? It may be so, but it should be noted that thanks to Bungie Studios‘ Halo 3, Microsoft is now getting its own slice of success and is currently enjoying an increase in hardware sales.
