As we all know, Square Enix will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and it has been working on a whole line of projects to mark the event. Among the projects that it is working on is the PSP reincarnation of the first two Final Fantasy games. Hence, we have Final Fantasy I & II: 20th Anniversary Edition for the PSP. Even though it has been reportedly pushed back to a June 2007 release date instead of the supposed April release, we can’t help but just love this classic.

The PSP version of Final Fantasy I & II will contain additional content which originally appeared in the GBA version of the game, including the dungeon “Soul of Chaos” (see the screenshots on top).

Besides that though, something completely new has also been added in the form of the new dungeon known as “The Labyrinth of Time” (screenshots below). In this new dungeon, the player will suffer from a continuous HP decrease. We’re not 100% sure since we can’t read Japanese, but it seems that not only is your HP getting lower and lower, but the usage of Magic and Items, as well as the ability to run have also been disabled. It seems as if the only way to survive the dungeon is to make it to the deepest level before the timer runs out.

Now, we just wish that June comes faster.
