Final Fantasy I & II: Japan launch dates
With Famitsu providing some pretty heavy coverage on Final Fantasy I and II, we figured it was only a matter of time before a release date would be announced…and here it is. Dengeki online has just blown the whistle on the official Japan release dates for this 20th anniversary pair.
Final Fantasy I will be arriving in Japan‘s shelves this April 19 at a retail price of Â¥3,900 (US $ 33). Final Fantasy II will be coming some time in May, with a TBA price tag. Just keep in mind (the FF neophytes, to be exact) that these games are ports of the PS1 Final Fantasy I & II Anthology, with extras like revamped graphics and the “Soul of Chaos” content taken from the Game Boy Advance port.
For the long-time fans, you may want to consider getting a copy – if not for the game itself – for a likely soul-mate for your (most probably imported) Lion War UMD. For the relatively new FF (Final Fantasy 7+) fans, this might be a good history lesson on how the franchise began. That only leaves one question for us: Where’s our limited-edition swag?
