It’s been a while now since the release of the Wings of the Goddess expansion for Final Fantasy XI. Now Square Enix has released new info for the next version update. Check out the full article for some of the cool new stuff that will be added to Campaign battles.
Earlier this month, Square Enix announced that the latest version update for Final Fantasy XI (Xbox 360, PC) will be available by March. Now they’ve released details on some of the new Campaign Elements we’ll see in the update.
First of all is the Beastman Strongholds (left most picture). A stronghold will be introduced in every Beastman controlled territory. Allied Forces Campaign Battles will be held on the outskirts of Beastman Strongholds.
The belfry (middle picture) is a structure that holds a war bell which can call reinforcements. The structure is available to both the Allied Forces of Altana and the Beastman Confederate. In Battles, factions will have to protect their belfries and destroy the enemy’s.
The mantelet is also a new item available for both factions. It will be placed within the area of influence of the defending army after technological means have reached a certain level. The mantelet can restore the HP of friendly players.
The siege turrets is a huge long-range war machine. It’s only available to the Beastman Confederate. It spawns enemies and will only appear once the army’s technological means reaches a high level while attacking areas outside their influence.
