Final Fantasy XI Xbox 360 Review
Those lucky guys at GameDaily have been playing the Final Fantasy XI beta for a month, plus the retail version for a while now. And they’ve been kind enough to write a review.
Well, if you’ve been under a rock for the last 10 years or so, I’ll help you get back up to speed with the latest happenings. Final Fantasy XI is a massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG). The original version of the game was first released in May 2002 in Japan. Later, it went on to become as legendary as its earlier versions.
First, a major quirk : Installation of the game takes well over four hours to complete. But if you’re ready to dedicate a little time to it, you’ll realise that Final Fantasy XI is still that very-addictive RPG. Plus, the graphics are not next-gen. But, Square Enix has put in some work to make sure that it still looks way better than the PC or PS2 version. And playing it on HDTV with all its goodness is still a great experience.
An excerpt from their review :
“Final Fantasy finally comes to a Microsoft console with the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XI. Including all three expansions, anyone who has yet to try out FFXI or simply wants to upgrade from the PS2 or PC will find everything they need in the $60 Xbox 360 title. The graphics are a bit dated when compared to just about any other Xbox 360 title, but it’s the best looking version of FFXI out there. You’ll need a USB keyboard to get the most out of the title, and you’ll also need to be prepared for the installation process that will take upwards of four hours to complete. However, once you’re in find some friends and start adventuring in the huge world of Vana’diel.”

It will also be on display at E3. Stay tuned because QJ.NET will be providing late-breaking news during E3 week. Make sure to check out our other E3 stories here.
