Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings: taking flight April 26

The Japanese games news service ITmedia +D Games reports that Square Enix‘s anticipated sequel to Final Fantasy XII, the DS Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings, is scheduled to take flight in Japanese DS handhelds on April 26, 2007, with a ticket price of Â¥5040 (which translates to about US$ 42.00 at prevailing rates). With a Japanese price announced Japanese DS owners can begin making their flight plans.

Which leaves North American Final Fantasy fans. The ITmedia report, based on the weblation, did not give any details about English localizations or definite North American releases, but given the wide and global appeal of FFXII, an English localization would be sorely missed.

However, the fact that game is ready for release in late April signifies that the game is complete, so it’s only the process of English localization that remains before moving on to a worldwide release.

When asked for comment, Balthier simply replied that they would be ready for boarding as soon as Fran was through with one of her recurring mood swings (he did not answer when asked if it was Mist-triggered, though). Back in Rabanastre, Vann would not give any coherent answer, as he was busy skipping around repeatedly cheering “I’m a sky pirate! I’m a sky pirate!” like a 12-year old.

In other news: HRM Ashelia B’nagrin Dalmasca promotes healthy vegetarian meals in Rabanastre. Cactoids cry foul, threaten 100 Needle protest on the palace.
