Final Fantasy XIII is last year’s top seller for Square Enix
There might be mixed receptions about the linearity of Final Fantasy XIII, but it sure didn’t keep people from buying it. Having sold 5.55 million copies worldwide, the battle between the l’Cie and the fal’Cie is Square Enix’s best-selling title last year.

Final Fantasy XIII sales are pretty even across the three major regions – 1.79 million went to North America, 1.77 to Europe, 1.85 in Japan, while the other regions can account for the tiny slice of the grand total. It won’t stop there, Square Enix will still release the game again in Asia in a Chinese/Korean version.
Dragon Quest IX also sold well, moving 4.26 million copies in Japan alone. In the west, Batman: Arkham Asylum from Eidos (a.k.a Square Enix Europe) sold 3.24 million copies.
