Final Fantasy XIII ranks 2nd in Dengeki’s Best of ’09 list

We all know that Final Fantasy XIII did well enough to break some sales record upon its launch last year, and in fact even helped boost numbers of a particular console. But was it well enough to get the coveted top spot in Dengeki’s Best Game of 2009 list? Verdict is a no.

 

 

 

 

We all know that Final Fantasy XIII did well enough to break some sales record upon its launch last year, and in fact even helped boost numbers of a particular console. But was it well enough to get the coveted top spot in Dengeki’s Best Game of 2009 list? Verdict is a no.

 

It’s not so bad, though. Square Enix’ baby placed second. And this is despite the fact that there have been complaints about how the game had no levels, and its over-all linearity (which the Japanese does not appreciate, apparently).

 

Coming in at first place is Dragon Quest IX. There are 20 games in all listed in the Best of 2009 line-up from Dengeki; check them out below.
