Final Fantasy XIII still strong for 2009, demo won’t have Snow
Worries that Final Fantasy XIII will be delayed sprang up when Square Enix president Yoichi Wada announced that its release could be affected by Dragon Quest IX‘s own delay. Looks like worries may have been premature. FFXIII‘s director Motomu Toriyama says that development is still “going favorably for a 2009 launch.”
Worries that Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360) will be delayed sprang up when Square Enix president Yoichi Wada announced that its release could be affected by Dragon Quest IX‘s own delay.
Looks like worries may have been premature though. According to an interview with FFXIII‘s director Motomu Toriyama in the latest Famitsu mag, development is still “going favorably for a 2009 launch.” When in 2009? Not specified. It really doesn’t give me any comfort that Squeenix keeps talking about the release in terms of years.
Details were also given for the upcoming demo that will come with Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete. Although the demo won’t be long enough for Lightning to meet with Mr. 33 cm, Snow Villers, it will be structured so that it can be played repeatedly. Unfortunately, last time I heard, the demo’s still a Japanese exclusive.
