Firmware 3.0 advice: do NOT upgrade, no jailbreak yet
Firmware 3.0 has just been released for the iPhone. What are the experts saying? Don’t upgrade yet. The good and sole reason for you to hold off on upgrading to said FW is beause there’s no jailbreak for it yet at this time.

I swear, I wasn’t gonna upgrade your iPhone to 3.0!
If you do, you will summon a foul-spewing old gypsy lady who will grab you by your collars and breathe upon you the curse of the Lamya, straight a la Drag Me to Hell. Okay, maybe that’s too farfetched. But it will replace most of your 3.0GM with B5 components, and you will no longer have the real 3.0. Instead, you’ll be getting a hybrid of 3.0 and beta 5. Major suxors, really.
The Big Boss elaborates on the doomsday scenario:
Next week when beta 5 expires, your 3.0 jailbreak could expire as well and you would have to restore all over again.Yes, some people may claim that they did this and “it works fine”. But as I just stated, it is not a real 3.0 final any longer. Definitely not a good idea nor is this something you want.
Just wait a few days and you should be ok.
Meanwhile, Apple iPhone School is of the position that a jailbreak is possible to arrive on June 17th. However, there’s this rumor as well that even if the jailbeak apps do arrive by then, it will still not be able to work on 3.0.
We’ll keep you posted on this.
