First Confirmation about GTA going next-gen!

This might be a very, very small news post, but it is indeed BIG news for most gamers out there! The publisher of Grand Theft Auto, Take-Two Interactive, today released their financial results for the first quarter of fiscal ’06. Shortly after there was a conference call where they discussed these results and future plans and products from the company. While it was revealed that Liberty City Stories for the PS2 will be coming at the end of April (priced for less than the PSP version) the real interesting stuff came near the end during the Q&A.

One guy asked the CEO of Take-Two, Paul Eibeler, about Grand Theft Auto for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 coming next year. Paul Eibeler replied saying that they’re very excited about the plans for the GTA franchise and that it “will be what you’d expect in a great Grand Theft Auto Product.”

Now, we all know that Grand Theft Auto will eventually be coming to next-generation consoles, but this is so far the first confirmation from the publisher. In Take-Two’s previous conference call Executive Vice President, Cindi Bulwalter, said that they’re very excited about this years E3 and that we’ll be seeing a range of product announcements. We’re also very, very excited indeed!
