First Need for Speed: Carbon Details

GIThe latest issue of the US Game Informer officially unveils the first details of the PS3 and Wii (still unknown whether or not this will be a super multiplatformer again) street racer, Need for Speed: Carbon. Apparently the new game will have features from both the Underground and the Most Wanted series, meaning you’ll be chasing the cops (Most Wanted series) and pimping your car (Underground series) in the same game. The magazine also reports the game will be out during Christmas this year.

Another new feature will be ability to conquer “territories” on each of the 3 maps, with each map having 7 territories. Owning those places will give you bonuses and the like.

Then there’s Canyon Racing where you “race on narrow circuits alongside deadly pitfalls.” In the unveiling report it also says there will be some kind of team racing for that mode, where they’ll help you push the opponents off the road. It’s not known if there’s any other team thing in the game apart from that.

At E3 a few weeks back EA already showed a trailer of the game in a quick montage (nothing special), and since then rumors have been circulating a lot. Need for Speed: Carbon has also been referred to “Need for Speed 7”, but this pretty much shows that’s not true.
