First screenshot of Skype PSP, Sony launches USB microphone
Sony is pouring on the goodies for PSP users as it releases a first-hand look at what the new Skype service will look like on the gaming handheld.
Furthermore, the previously Talkman-exclusive USB microphone accessory will soon become available as a separate peripheral, according to a recent announcement from Sony.

After hearing all about it from various sources over the past month, Famitsu has finally taken some conclusive evidence of the upcoming Skype service on Sony‘s PlayStation Portable. From the screenshot above, you can pretty much tell that the well-renowned Internet telephony software will indeed be hitting the gaming handheld soon.
While it doesn’t exactly show the actual software in action, at least it gives a pretty solid look at what it will be like when it’s released.
In other news, Sony has also announced the launch of its new USB microphone peripheral for the PSP. Originally bundled with the UMD game Talkman, the new stand-alone accessory is set to hit Japan this January 24 for 2,500 yen (US$ 23). It will also be available in a two-piece set priced at 4,000 yen (US$ 46).
This definitely spells good news for PSP users looking to extend the functionality of their handhelds beyond their usual gaming habits.
