FlatMii: streams backups from PC to Wii
Despite Nintendo‘s best efforts to keep its gamers from playing “backups,” modders just keep getting the best of them. This new one, called FlatMii, lets you play backups straight from your PC via USB. It can render your Wii drive virtually obsolete.

Despite Nintendo‘s best efforts to keep its gamers from playing “backups,” modders just keep getting the best of them. This new one, called FlatMii, lets you play backups straight from your PC via USB. It can render your Wii drive virtually obsolete.
Flatmii is a device that plugs into the Wii’s drive ribbon. The website emphasizes its non use of chips or clips – no soldering involved, it’s virtually plug and play. Still, there’s a fair amount of technical stuff involved in hooking it up, as you’ll see from this vid:

Besides playing -ehem- backups, I imagine this would be useful for people who managed to bust up their Wii’s disc drive. Like that poor woman who forced in three of her credit cards inside the drive. Anyhoo, you can find out more about it after the source link below. FlatMii I mean, not the woman.
