For the Wiin: Wii breaks sales records Down Under

FOR THE WIN!Talk about a winning streak!

Not only has Nintendo recently broken the world record for the most number of video game consoles sold in a week (thanks to the DS Lite), but now, they have also broken the all-time Australian record for the same category. According to recent reports, 32,901 Nintendo Wiis were sold within four days of its launch, which, when computed properly, means that two out of every three consoles which were sold last week were all Wiis.

According to Vooks.net, “Wii console sales accounted for 43% of all video game hardware sold last week. This was followed by the Nintendo DS, which represented 24% of the total market.”

Now those are some nice numbers right there, and we’re all actually rather excited to see if Nintendo will be able to pull off any similar feats within the next few weeks. Afterall, the holidays are coming up and people just want to buy, buy, buy. Would there be any other records to shatter? We’ll see!
