Forza Motorsport 2 rides with Le Mans racing team

To promote the upcoming Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360, Microsoft has announced a sponsorship deal with Risi Competizione, one of the best race teams in the American Le Mans Series. For the entire racing season, the logos of Forza and Xbox 360 will appear on the Ferrari 430GT (pictured above).

Forza Motorsport 2 fans interested in real-life racing (that’s probably most of them) will get an in depth look behind the scenes of Risi’s race pits as the Forza team posts their experiences and impressions from there. Soon, the game’s website will be filled with lots of interesting stuff taken straight from the race tracks of Le Mans.

“This type of opportunity is very rare in our sport and came about as the result of a lot of hard work, over a period of almost three years, by members of both teams. ItÂ’s a new world, both on and off the track.” Risi Competizione Managing Director Giuseppe Risi said.

Alan Hartman, Turn 10 Studio Manager, added: “Taking our partnership with Risi to the next level will enable us to engage the drivers as well as a world class support team to push Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360 to a whole new level of realism”.

Look forward to more exciting developments as the line between virtual and real racing blurs! As in, expect more game ads on cars. Well, we’ll see soon if this deal actually brings anything to the gamers.
