Four new screenshots of Fallout 3
While war may never change – even if the world it’s currently being fought on is a wrecked, nuke-pockmarked wasteland – we certainly can’t help but feel that Fallout 3(Xbox 360, PS3, PC) is changing the way we look at post-apocalyptic RPGs, and it’s more than evident in these new screenshots fresh from GC in Leipzig.
In this screenshot update, we see quite an eye-opening lot, starting with the game’s beautifully-ruined environments that depict a land torn apart by war, strife, and indiscriminate nuking. The billboard shows off Fallout‘s most recognizable element, PipBoy, as well as the vaults humans were made to retreat into during the aforementioned nuking. We also see some images that may or may not depict gameplay – if it does, then we’re probably looking at a third-person adventure on our hands.
One thing that’s striking about these screenshots is the fact that blood – droplets of it, anyway – get splattered all over the camera after a kill. Certainly a bloody affair, which brings us to question just how violent Bethesda‘s Fallout 3 is going to be come its release date. The visuals look as pretty as ever, though there’s a bit of blurring at the very last screenshot. Enjoy the screenshots!
