Frankie on Simon Cowell, dancing cats… (oh, and Halo 3)

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Frank O’Connor not only talked about A-Hole muting buttons. They were able to grab him and squeeze out a couple more unspilled beans on Halo 3‘s development (among a whole lot of other stuff). Let’s jump into the mix, now shall we?

Weapons, tactics, and snow:

Bungie went through weapon development with a test process of, in Frankie’s words, “play it, play it some more, take notes, make changes, play it more.” Since the designing stages, he says that they haven’t scrapped a single weapon in their drafts, they’re pretty much intact, but with a couple of improvements here and there.

As for the Snowbound map in the game, the terrain will affect not so much your gameplay, but more of your strategy. For one, you might be surprised of how much the glare from the snow can throw off your aim. You’d also be leaving your footprint on the snow, thereby making you trackable for a couple of seconds as you move along.

Peter Jackson, Koizumi-Cowell-Nugent, and Mr. Mistofolees:

Even O’Connor seems to admit that he doesn’t know much about the status of the Halo movie that’s supposed to be directed by big man Peter Jackson. And as far as “Big Wigs” go, when asked about a true-to-life Covenant leader in our world today, he gave a hodge-podge of a leader, mentioning aspects from none other than Koizumi’s “incredibly powerful hair,” going hand in hand with Simon Cowell’s heartless personality, and topping it off with Ted Nugent’s array of deadly weapons.

He was also asked of where they’ve gotten inspiration for Halo, and he answers this by giving a broad spectrum of sources: books, movies, TV shows… Even one Broadway musical which features dancing cats. Gee. Wonder what that could be.
