Free Radical confirms Haze’s PS3 exclusivity again
Even with news that the May 22 European launch of Haze will not push through, the gaming scene is still more concerned about Haze‘s exclusivity to the PlayStation 3 more than anything. Free Radical‘s Rob Yescombe wants to lay the issue to rest. More details after the jump.
Ubisoft and Free Radical‘s Haze has just faced another delay with its aborted May 22 European release date. But the buzz about the upcoming FPS game is still all about its exclusivity to the Sony Playstation 3.
Speculations still run around the rumor mill even though publisher Ubisoft has already confirmed this issue time and time again. But truth be told, there seems to be enough fuel to keep the hearsay harking – Haze was originally pegged for three platforms. Moreover, Ubisoft Montreal‘s Assassin’s Creed was first announced as a Sony PS3 exclusive, but ended up seeing the light of day for Microsoft Xbox 360, PC, and the Nintendo DS.
But developer Free RadicalÂ’s script writer Rob Yescombe wants to end the ruckus once and for all. In an interview with Ripten, Yescombe clarifies: “WeÂ’re a Playstation 3 exclusive. If by some magical wave of the wand that happens, I wonÂ’t be complaining. But weÂ’re a Playstation 3 exclusive.”
There you go, as categorical as it gets. But we doubt this statement from Yescombe will turn into gospel. Not until Haze gets released, rumors will still persist.
