Free Sega game for first 150 HMV PS3 buyers
Retail store HMV says that it’s going to partner with SEGA for Europe‘s Playstation 3 launch. In an article from Games Industry Biz, we found out that the first 150 customers to buy a PlayStation 3 at HMV Oxford Street on Friday morning will receive a free copy of Sega’s Virtua Tennis.
Actually, HMV planned to open their store at midnight, but the police were against it, saying that there will be much concern about the safety of the customers. In case customers went out at night, with cash and/or the brand new PS3 consoles with them, it will indeed be very dangerous.
HMV Oxford Street store said that they have decided to open in the morning, while the rest of the 50 stores all across the region will be opening at midnight. But apart from the safety concerns as put out by the police, HMV would also like to take advantage of the passing commuter traffic in the morning to attract impulse buyers into their store.
HMV adds that opening in the morning is “the most practical response to various sets of circumstances”.
