Freebie: XBLA’s Undertow to be a free downloadable next week

Nothing says sorry like a good peace offering. And for the guys who were stricken with Xbox Live’s connection blues during the holidays, that mean you’re entitled to a  fee copy of XBLA’s Undertow game. More details regarding this are available in the full article.

As you will recall, Microsoft‘s Marc Whitten sent out a letter last week saying that MS will be releasing a free Live Arcade game as an apology for Xbox Live’s connection woes during the holidays. Now, in case you’re worried that the game might be some toss-away title that many of us probably wouldn’t enjoy, we’ve got some good news.

Whitten has updated his letter to state that the freebie XBLA downloadable is Undertow, a shooter from Chair Entertainment. The offer will be available beginning next Wednesday, 2:00 a.m. PST through Sunday, 11:59 p.m., and will be offered to both XBL gold and silver members.

Originally priced at 800 MS points, Undertow offers players a mix of game modes ranging from a story driven single-player mode to both offline and online multiplayer bouts. We’ll let you know in case any new updates are announced regarding this development.
