From iPhone to PSP: Cube Runner v0.3 (demo)
Here’s something to help you pass some idle time in the bus or on the train. Taking a page from the iPhone version of this game, Cube Runner from a_noob (of Gnarly Pong fame) is a no-frills-no-fuss demo. Fun in its simplicity, but already I can see the potential here. Vroooom!

Here’s something to help you pass some idle time in the bus, on the train, etc. It’s still on its demo run, but already I can see the potential. Remember the StarSlalom homebrew game from last year? Or even better, Cube Runner on the iPhone/iPod Touch (vid below)? If you know either, then you know how this works.
From PSP homebrew developer a_noob (of Gnarly Pong fame) has come up with Cube Runner v0.3. All you have to do here is guide your little pyramid as it runs through an obstacle course of cubes. Controls are simple: just use the left and right buttons on the D-pad.
You get one point for every cube you pass. If you collide with one of them, the game just resets and you have a go at another run. No quirks, no frills, it’s still a demo. (By the way, you might want to up the brightness of your screen a bit because some of the cubes have a darker shade, and that much harder to see compared to the others – the sneaky bastards.)
As I said, this is just a demo, and a_noob doesn’t give us some insight on what’s planned next for Cube Runner. Music and sound effects, perhaps? Or a way to record scores, speed up/down options… For now, a_noob says it’s just a product of four hours of coding (whoa!), and that he’ll “work more on it later so it has some higher standards.” Sweeet.
Anyways, here’s a video of the iPod Touch version of Cube Runner:
